Nicole Bain
A message from the Artistic Director

As an older dancer and choreographer, I've seen firsthand how the world of dance has been confined by limiting myths and stereotypes.

One existing myth is the notion that concert dance is solely for the young and physically gifted. While youthful athleticism plays a role, dance runs far deeper than just physical prowess. It's a profound way to channel emotions, communicate ideas, spark reflection and inspire change. Often, a dancer's most transcendent performances come not from their physical prowess, but from the profound life journeys they've undertaken and are able to express.

That's why for "Fuel" I've assembled a collective of different generations with diverse levels of experience, from budding movers just beginning their dance journeys, to gifted young dancers in their physical prime and respected mature dancers carrying lifetimes of stories within their bodies. I hope to share a side of dance that is accessible without sacrificing artistic integrity.

At its core, this artistic project stems from a deep appreciation for the talents and passion for dance that God has placed within me. I see the abilities to move expressively, and to weave together stories as a gift from Him. "Fuel" is an expression of my desire to fully embrace and rekindle this gift for His glory and a way for me to tell stories that ultimately point toward the beauty and hope that is found in Him.

— Nicole Bain

Nicole Bain

Nicole Bain

A Jamaican storyteller at heart, Nicole Bain weaves faith and artistic integrity into her choreography, using movement and artistry to tell stories that engage social and spiritual issues.

Nicole has been dancing for as long as she can remember — making up dances in her living room long before formal training in the art form. Her training spans institutions and continents — from the Sheila Marie Dance Troupe in the UK and the Queen's Preparatory School Dance Troupe under the tutelage of Pansy Hassan, to the University Dance Society, Praise Academy of Dance, and the Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts, where she trained with Core Group and Dance Works.

She has travelled, performed and taught in eight countries across four continents — the Bahamas, South Africa, Barbados, Anguilla, Australia, Cayman, the UK, and her home, Jamaica.

Her faith in Jesus Christ is core to everything she does. Nicole believes that everybody has a story to tell, and that our bodies, when submitted to Him, can become vessels for stories told to His glory.
Shari-Leigh Howell

Shari-Leigh Howell

Shari's experience with dance spans over 20 years, both onstage and backstage. From 2012-2020, she danced with and choreographed for One Body One God Dance Company (@obogdance), and in 2023, she received the Directors award for exemplifying the core qualities of the ministry in service, unity and dedication. All glory to God!

After a five-year hiatus from dance, and with the Lord's leading, she is rediscovering (through her weaknesses) that only Jesus can be her fuel, for "His power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Cor 12:9). When she isn't dancing for God, she is working for Him as a missionary, where her life's calling is to know Christ, make Him known, and help others to do the same.

His versatility and stage presence have also led him to contribute to theatre productions as Assistant Choreographer with the Jamaica Musical Theatre Company.

With a deep love for worship and creative ministry, Daron integrates faith and artistry, using dance as a powerful tool to honor God and connect with audiences. His work reflects excellence, innovation, and a commitment to storytelling through movement.
Danni Bain

Danni Bain

Danni is a multidisciplinary artist and choreographer whose work explores emotional honesty and physical efficiency. A graduate of the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts (EMCVPA), she has performed with the Chazon Dance Company and CDT, and served as the 2021–2022 EMCVPA DanceWorks President. She has also taken on roles as a student lecturer at EMCVPA and dance instructor at OBOG, Praise Academy of Dance, and the CDT school.

Grounded in contemporary release, Danni's practice utilizes the body as a vessel for navigating mental health and emphasizes the importance of kinesthetic awareness. This desire for kinesthetic awareness heavily influences her music and the way she uses her voice as a recording artist. Performing under the name REx, she is working towards pioneering a unique soundscape by fusing House and EDM with Contemporary Reggae and Dancehall.

With a smooth, airy voice, REx provides "medicine for the soul," navigating the rawness of the human experience and the redemption found in radical honesty. Her artistry is fueled by her pursuit to fully surrender to the creative force. Follow along as she uses music and motion to sift through life's many layers and find the peace that comes from surrendering to the force.

— May the force be with you always
Oniel Pryce

Oniel Pryce

Oniel Pryce is a contemporary choreographer and educator, currently serving as Head of the Department of Performance and Choreography at the School of Dance, Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts. His work explores the body as a site of lived experience and identity.

His choreographic practice is rooted in contemporary dance and shaped by a distinct artistic voice that merges physical intensity with emotional depth. Pryce's work engages themes of vulnerability, resilience, and transformation.

In 2026, he continues to expand his research through his new work, Golden Fractures, presented in the Fuel 111 production Kingstugi. The work investigates the beauty within brokenness, drawing on ideas of repair, healing, and transformation. Through this inquiry, Pryce reimagines fragmentation not as loss, but as a space for renewal and becoming.
